Stephen R. Craig Inc. has been a housekeeping consultant since 1986. In that time he has worked at 197 vacation rental companies, destination resorts and timeshare resorts of all sizes and complexities throughout the United States and Canada.

Basic Service: Anxiety that a housekeeping department will be able to deliver cost-effective, quality service is what leads most company owners or general managers to ask if we can help and the most popular service is an S.P.A. (Service Performance Appraisal). A detailed analysis of the entire housekeeping/laundry operation is done at the resort. After gathering the necessary data and completing experiments and detailed observations, a clear, concise report is written about the status of the department that includes the current state of productivity, quality and cost-effectiveness and suggested alternatives. For each major alternative that is included in the report, a detailed Plan of Action is written so that when the host resort or company agrees with the proposed changes, management has a blueprint for effecting change in an orderly manner.

Why should we have an S.P.A. and is it worth the expense? While we cannot guarantee that you will save money or generate higher revenues, most of our clients do and these savings/revenues usually cover the cost of the SPA in only a few months. Talk to any client we have ever worked with and ask them if they feel their money was well-spent. Our previous clients are our sole source of new business.
